Car acceleration question?
I have a 2003 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS and I am noticing some decrease in acceleration. My next scheduled maintenance on the list was to have the timing belt changed along with the water pump and thermostats. However, my local auto repair shop looked at the belt and commented that it was in fairly good shape. It is possible that it was changed before with the previous owner, and could still be fairly new, I have no records to prove. The reason I bring this up is because I'm not sure if my timing belt could contribute to the decrease in my cars acceleration. Other things that have come to mind are fuel filter or O2 sensors.
What I am experiencing is that from a stop my car takes a lot to get up to speed. Many other cars pass me and I'm pushing my rpms up to 3500. (It is a manual). I don't think this car is supposed to be this slow. Other cars I have had in the past definitely have had a faster pick up and they were old clunkers. I don't notice any strange sounds or anything like that that could lend to my problem. I have recently changed the spark plugs and air filter. At the last oil change I also sea foamed it as well. Any ideas??

Help on 09 Nissan altima exhaust lead pipe...?
So about a year ago, i got my car repaired at a auto shop, because i got rear-ended. It was the driver who hit me fault, for tailgating and speeding. The person who also rear-ended this guy, even said it was his fault as well. The thing is, that the guy was at fault, had progressive insurance, wanted to pay the damges to my car, at the lowest price possible, which means low quality. My mom and I yelled at the insurance quoter for progressive, for trying to do this, since it was their customers fault. The point is i got my rear bumper fixed, and a new exhaust system pipe installed as well. I have noticed for sometime now, after observing my car for long, that the exhaust pipe that was replaced, has a circle shaped design. My car has two exhaust pipe, one on each side, which is why i noticed. The original exhaust pipe, is more sporty looking, like pointy. Can i have the auto repair shop, switch it to the original looking exhaust pipe. I mean, i should have gotten the same exhaust original exhaust pipe part, installed on my car, since i wasn't at fault. Should i contact the guy who was at faults insurance which was progressive. Serious answers only
um....Gary what do you mean why i would i want to change it. Its obvious that no one want a car with uneven exhaust lead tail pipes. Would you like one of your tail pipes to be different shaped, like one a circle shaped and one pointy looking. I mean its like getting a uneven haircut, one of side is shaped box like and the other pointy like. what is that....i mean i am not speaking about the efficiency i am speaking appearance wise.

OPINION: Would you buy a custom-built computer from a 15 year old?
I am almost 15, and I really have a love interest with computers. I have built a few computers, and repaired many more. I actually fixed the computers in my dad's business myself! I was wondering, if the price is right, would people order a custom built PC from me? I will be operating in a medium-traffic area (my dad's auto repair shop), and I was thinking that the price of the PC would be parts+10%(for labor). Is this too steep, or could I actually make around $1000 by the summer if I stick to it?

Should I have these auto repairs done?
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon with 140,000 miles. It's in great shape, runs like new. I love the car and want to keep it for a long time.
I had it in to the dealer for maintenance, and they advised me that it needs the following:
Valve cover gasket leaking. $576
Oil pan gasket leaking $301
Power steering return line leaking & metal pipe.hose $411.
None of these seem serious. I haven't noticed oil on the garage floor, so oil leaks can't be that bad. What's my best approach? I hate to shell out almost $1300 for just crummy gaskets and hoses. Should I just leave them? The power steering one does seem like it could be important. Look for a cheaper place to get them fixed?
I know the dealer might be the high-cost option. BTW, they didn't pressure me into getting these done right away by trying to scare me into doing them right away.
How serious do these seem, and how much should I worry about getting them done?
