Positions at auto shops?
I'm writing a story where the main characters work at an auto shop, and I need to know the various positions. I know that there is a manager and a paint job guy, but I'm not sure if the other jobs get separate guys or one guy can pretty much do it all.

Carrying garden tools like hatchet in vehicle in Texas, mechanic acted weird...?
I have a question for those familiar with TX Law / Penal Codes...
So, now that it's spring I have a few old trees I wanted to cut down, so today while running errands, I picked up a hatchet to cut them down at the store, I then secured it in my glovebox. My break light in my car was part of my errands to get checked because it came on last week, so after leaving the garden shop I stop by an auto-shop to have my breaks checked... here's where it gets weird, while they were supposed to be checking my breaks, a mechanic decided to open my glove box and look in, then he saw my hatchet and called his manager, who took pics of my vehicle tags and plates, and I'm thinking wtf!? I feel like not only were my rights violated, and the mechanic had no right to look or photo my vehicle (which I will complain), but anyways that led me to wonder
- is it ok to buy/transport my axe home to do my garden work?
-and why were the mechanics "playing cop"?- Anyone ever experience that?
I'm just still speechless, I've never even gotten a ticket before, and for them to act so weird...lol should I have any worry over this or their behavior?
